Jennifer Ryder-Jones
Scrag-Ends/Scarecrows
Jennifer obtained a National Diploma in Design from the Newton Abbot School of Art (UK) and in the years since has taught and exhibited extensively in Canada, the US, and Europe. At present she teaches multi-media, painting and pottery to veterans in the creative arts programme at the Perly & Rideau Veterans Health Center in Ottawa. Jennifer also teaches for 'Artswell'. For the past 3 years, she has been the artist-in-residence at the Mill of Kintail where she created, with the participation of visitors to the Mill Museum, the multi-media sculpture Fence, using local materials. Rich, diverse, and indigenous cultures on both sides of the Atlantic have influenced her innovative approach to sculpture. Currently her work focuses on environmental concerns and is at times whimsical, mythical and irreverent.
Bakerygroup (MarcinPadlewski and Anissa Szeto)
Inside/Out
Bakerygroup was established by Michel DuVernet, Marcin Padlewski and Anissa Szeto with backgrounds that include fine arts, architecture and engineering. Together the three partners have created and developed a variety of projects ranging from individual custom commissions to designs intended for production.
We focus on projects that challenge us to create structurally pure and innovative products. Our process draws from the influence of both materials and a hand-made approach to design. …seek out the implicit nature of materials, experiment with structure, apply function and discover form… expect fresh results! www.bakerygroup.com
